Greetings
Thais greet with a wai — palms together at chest height with a small bow.
- Add khrap (men) or kha (women) to the end of sentences for politeness.
- Return a wai when greeted, but you don't need to wai children or service staff.
- Sawadee khrap/kha = hello. Khop khun khrap/kha = thank you.
- Use Khun + first name as a respectful form of address.
